We have all been in the 'same sea' during this global pandemic, but our individual experiences have varied, we have been in 'different boats'. Evidence shows that the ability to self regulate and have a cohesive narrative are key to integrating experiences.

This Therapeutic Wellbeing Programme was specifically designed in response to the pandemic, having a positive impact to thousands of people lives since June 2020. Following a successful 18 months focussed on schools, this Wellbeing Programme is now offered to workplace communities.

The programme provides the tools for employees to re-integrate and thrive in an ever changing landscape.

"...it was a way to give back to staff"
Rachael Coll, Principal, Waihi Beach School

What I have noticed is staff are desperate to have the time to talk constructively about the last 2 years. Creating a safe space to share and listen without opinion but rather "I have felt this, I hear you felt that" - no one is right or wrong, there is no right way to feel. Where you are is ok.

As we all re-enter the water, so to speak, our challenge is to stay buoyant on a backdrop of exhaustion therefore it is imperative to equip staff with the tools mentally, emotionally and physically as they navigate these uncharted waters.  With proven success in the UK, this programme uses the latest evidence based neuroscience practical tools on how to:

  • reduce stress

  • how to understand fear and what it does to the brain

  • how to move from tension and stress to feeling connected and responsive in 30 seconds

  • make sense of what has happened so we can move forward

What is felt and expressed is let go of, so you can be free to live fully in the moment... this fosters mental health
and wellbeing.

By having a clear narrative, the brain can place challenging experiences to memory. This allows the body to move on and settle back into being open and present.

Work Place Wellbeing Packages

Workplaces continue to be under a lot of uncertainties, constant pressure to keep going and adjust the way of working be it from the office or from home. We can't control the changes that are occurring outside of ourselves and what we do know is that staff will have had many difficult experiences, at the least they will have not been able to see people and be in their normal routine.

We need to provide a safe, structured, creative way for workplace communities to make sense of this.

We have designed a whole workplace creative making space to help staff to express and make sense of their experiences, understand the experiences of others and help them to create a ritual to capture this historic even  in the making.

STAFF WELLBEING SUPPORT TRAINING:
Support to process the impact of Lockdown and being back in the workplace.

A half day training via zoom or in house for staff

A therapeutic art project which uses the symbolism of the boat to help express their experiences, make sense of them, understand others’ experiences and help them to create a ritual to capture the historic element to this collective global event. The making project is around the idea that we have all been in the same sea but we have all been in different boats. Creating space for making sense of and expressing our experiences in a contained and managed way.

Monthly zoom group sessions

We will look at different areas of wellbeing; sleep, stress, food, what we can impact what we cannot, and check in with the use of the boat making and sharing to co-create supportive work environments that are safe and actively engaged in the wellbeing of their staff. Staff in the UK reported reassurance with the regular reminders to place their wellbeing on their list rather than a one off event.
